Jeep Wrangler Gets Some Changes and New Options for 2022

Jeep is talking about the 2022 Wrangler and some of the new items the vehicle will receive for the model year. Rubicon models with the 3.6-liter V6 engine will have an optional 4.88 axle ratio available. To get that axle ratio, buyers can choose the eight-speed automatic or the six-speed manual, delivering a 100:1 crawl ratio.

Sahara and Rubicon models get standard remote proximity keyless entry, and the feature is optional on all other models as part of the Technology Group. Billet Silver is being replaced by a new color called Silver Zenith. One of the more interesting available options for 2022 is the Xtreme Recon package, which is available on the Willys four-door 3.6-liter automatic with eTorque, and the Rubicon V6 and Rubicon 392 models.

That package includes 35-inch BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires from the factory fitted to 17 by eight-inch beadlock capable wheels, swing gate reinforcement, and a 1.5-inch suspension lift from the factory. The package also brings a 4.56:1 axle ratio. Jeep is also making the Sunrider Flip Top for Hardtop available on all models.

Wrangler models starting with the Sport S can be fitted with an optional windshield featuring Corning Gorilla Glass, which should cut down on cracked windshields, a common problem for the upright position of the Wrangler’s front glass.
