A Turn-by-Turn Guide to Driving the Nürburgring

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | March 22, 2014

Antony Ashley is a professional driving instructor for RSRNurburg, a company that specializes in teaching drivers the the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. If you have a drive on the Nürburgring on your bucket list, where better to begin than a turn-by-turn guide to the track showing the ideal lines, gears, points of reference and more from a professional driver?

Jackie Stewart famously referred to the Nürburgring as the “Green Hell” and with good reason. The 13-mile track can be dangerous with plenty of opportunity to take your BMW into a sidewall or spin out. And even some of the most experienced drivers have trouble memorizing all the lines and corners through the Nordschleife’s more than 70 turns. While Ashley does his lap in a Renault Sport Clio Cup, which wouldn’t be the first choice for many people, he easily zips past other cars, including a Ferrari.
