Chasing Godzilla: One Man’s Dream to Own a Nissan GT-R

Car Throttle pays a visit to Andrew, a 28-year-old man who took out a second mortgage on his home to fulfill his dream and purchase a Nissan GT-R R35. Of course, living in London, his daily driving is like a granny driving to and from the shops or to work. It’s when he gets Godzilla out of town and onto winding country roads that his investment makes sense.

But with 550 horsepower, twin turbos, all-wheel drive, and a 0-to-60 time of under four seconds, Andrew finds he’s only able to really open up the car on straightaways at the moment, since the car can do much more than he can for the time being. Perhaps it’s time to find a local track and see what it can do. And, although it was a stretch to buy the GT-R, he hasn’t had to make any big sacrifices to make it a reality. In fact, when the 2016 GT-R is announced he may consider upgrading.

We think it’s great that Andrew, even at age 28, was able to pursue his long-time dream of owning his own Nissan GT-R. There’s certainly nothing wrong with setting your own priorities in life and chasing after them. It’s just that it’ll be hard to catch up with Andrew now in his supercar.
