Smashed up Koenigsegg One:1 to Be Repaired

It’s not uncommon for people to lose it on the Nürburgring and crash their cars. I would go so far as to say it’s common. What’s not common is for an extremely rare car to get smashed up at the Ring. This is exactly what happened during a test day with a Koenigsegg driver behind the wheel.

Word is that a very strange and long skid mark going into a corner shows that their might have been some sort of mechanical failure of the ABS, but that is unconfirmed. What we do know is that the driver walked away and didn’t need hospitalization.

While the car appears to be a total loss, but Koenigsegg says that it will rebuild the car. Only six production versions were ever made of the One:1 and a single prototype with all seven of them in private hands. I guess that means Koenigsegg just destroyed an owner’s $3.1 million car.
