For 2018, the VW Tiguan has grown up and in its growth it has much more room inside. The big change for the all-new model is that extra 10.6-inches in length compared to the current Tiguan. That means that the car can cram in 58% more cargo and has third-row seating standard on all FWD versions.
Buyers who opt for the 4Motion AWD version can add in third row seating for $500. The 4Motion AWD system has multiple driving modes for different terrain needs. It’s driven by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 184 hp and 221 lb-ft. of torque, connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Lots of driver assistance tech is available with front assist with pedestrian monitoring, blind spot monitoring with rear traffic alert, adaptive cruise, and lane assist. A power liftgate and a panoramic sunroof are also available.
The 2018 Tiguan S starts at $25,345(USD), with the 4Motion AWD version starting at $26,645. The SE starts at $29,080, the SEL starts at $32,500, and the SEL Premium starts at $36,250. Each one comes with VW’s impressive 6-year/72,000 mile limited warranty.
