Shelby GT350 Gets Tweaks for 2019 Year Model

Ford plans on continuing to sell the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R for the 2019 model year, which is good news for fans. The GT350 is getting some updates to make the car faster on the track, but the GT350R is staying the same. The GT350 gets revised MagneRide suspension settings for improved handling, and revised anti-lock braking for performance that come from competitive track testing.

The rear spoiler will have an available Gurney flap for more downforce. The car also rolls on new, custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with a special tread pattern just for the GT350. Those tires are 295/35 front and 305/35 rear on new 19-inch aluminum wheels. Ford still fits the car with six-piston Brembo front and four-piston Brembo rear brakes.

The beastly flat-plane-cranked 5.2L V8 carries over with 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. GT350 buyers can also add a 12-speaker B&O Play audio system this year and choose from new colors including Velocity Blue and Ford Performance Blue with optional factory-painted over-the-top racing stripes in Shadow Black, Oxford White, or Kona Blue. Deliveries start in Early 2019.
