F-TYPE Chequered Flag Pays Homage to a Jaguar Classic

Jaguar has announced a new limited-edition variant of F-TYPE, dubbed the Chequered Flag. This car is meant to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the launch of the famed XK120 sports car back in 1948. The car will be offered in coupe and convertible forms, with three engine options.

The car can be powered by a 300 hp turbocharged four cylinder, a 340 hp supercharged V6, and a 380 hp supercharged V6. The 380 hp version can be had with all-wheel drive, and all the cars uses an 8-speed Quickshift transmission. Oddly, it’s not available with the big supercharged V8 found in the F-TYPE R and SVR.

Jag will offer the car in Caldera Red, Fuji White, and Carpathian Grey with a black contrasting roof. Special 20-inch gloss black wheels with a diamond turned finish are offered. Inside, it wears premium Windsor leather and performance seats, along with Chequered Flag badging on the headrests, steering wheel, tread plates, and a dark brushed aluminum center console cover.

Pricing is unannounced as is exactly how many units Jaguar will make. It’s also not clear if this model will be offered in the US.
