Inside the Jaguar F-TYPE Factory

The Jaguar F-TYPE is one of the most beautiful vehicles to be designed in the last decade. In fact, I love it so much that I bought one for myself a few years back. I’ve always wanted to visit the Jaguar factory to see how these cars are made, but haven’t been presented with the chance.

Fortunately, the guys at YOUCAR managed to score some pretty extensive footage from inside Jaguar Land Rover’s famed Castle Bromwich plant in Birmingham, England, for a glimpse at the process of turning sheets of aluminum into sexy and powerful sports cars.

While robots are used to handle some of the bigger and heavier tasks such as lifting and moving assembled body parts, I was surprised to see how much of the riveting, adhesive application, and detail painting is done by hand.

I’ve visited several car factories in person, and watching the ballet of humans and machines working in concert to build cars from scratch will never get old.
