2022 IS 500 F Sport Performance Launch Edition Brings Style and V8 Power

Lexus recently announced that the V8 is coming back to the IS with the announcement of the 2022 IS 500 F Sport Performance. Now, we have word that the Japanese automaker is bringing out a limited edition of the car for those who wish to grab one of the first of the powerful sedans.

The 2022 Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance Launch Edition has the same 5.0-liter V8 engine under its raised hood as all IS 500s, cranking out 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft. of torque. What makes the Launch Edition special is all in its appearance and its rarity -just 500 will be made.

The car comes in an exclusive dark grey color called “Incognito.” It’s also got a unique two-toned black and grey interior, with Ultrasuede on the seating surfaces, doors, and center console. Another special touch is the silver ash wood along the top of the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

There’s also a special Launch Edition badge on the center console, indicating the car’s serial number. In addition, it rides on special 7-spoke, lightweight 19″ BBS forged alloy rims, which complement the car’s blacked-out grille, trunk spoiler, and front and rear aero parts.

Lexus has yet to announce pricing for the IS 500 F Sport Performance in either its Launch Edition or regular production models, but the cars should be arriving in dealerships in the Fall of 2021.
