BMW Reveals the 2022 X3 and X4 SUVs

BMW has revealed the third-generation X3 and second-generation X4 SUVs. Both models will come with a standard 248 horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or an available 382 horsepower 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine.  Both vehicles have revised interior and exterior features, including full-LED rear lights in the X3.

All six-cylinder models also feature a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. BMW says the 2.0-liter X3 and X4 models can reach 60 mph in six seconds. Versions featuring the six-cylinder engine can reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. All versions use the same eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. X4 buyers can also add the M Sport package to the vehicle bringing similar features as offered on the X3.

BMW offers an M Sport package for the X3 models and a front bumper with larger air intakes and inserts finished in high-gloss black along with more pronounced air curtains. A Shadowline Package is also available that coats the window frames, roof rails, and grille frame and bars in high-gloss black.

The X3 is the cheaper of the two vehicles starting at $43,700, with the X4 starting at $51,800. The entry-level into the X3 line is the sDrive30i, priced at $43,700, the X3 xDrive30i is $45,700, and the X3 M40i is priced at $57,800. BMW starts the X4 range with the xDrive30i at $51,800 and the X4 M40i at $62,400. All of those prices are before the $995 destination charge.
