Acura Teases New Integra for 2022

Sold under the Honda brand name in Japan, the Acura Integra was a popular and beloved 2+2 sports coupe from the time it debuted in 1986 until it went off the market in 2006. The Integra helped to launch the Acura brand alongside the more elegant Acura Legend and eventually was renamed with the Acura RSX badge in 2001. Now, nearly two decades later, the Integra is coming back.

Acura has yet to say anything about the new Integra’s size, shape, design, or drivetrain, but they do say it will return in the Spring of 2022. In addition, they dropped a single short teaser video on Instagram which shows the front left headlight and part of its grille and fender. The headlights look super sleek and modern, accented by a bold daytime running light that looks like a checkmark, or a stretched-out “V”. The diamond-shaped criss-cross grille is reminiscent of those seen on other current Acura models like the RLX and ILX.

I’m hopeful that the new Integra will mark a return to sports coupes for the performance-luxury brand, who currently only is focused on sedans, crossovers, and SUVs. If you’re interested in learning more about the new Integra, Acura has a page on its website where you can register for updates.
