When it comes to American muscle, two of the most powerful cars to ever be produced by Dodge and Chevrolet are the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Camaro ZL1. On paper at least, the Hellcat seems more suited for the drag strip while the ZL1 has enough handling thrown in to make a decent track day weapon at the road course.

On paper the two vehicles stack up pretty well, though there are some notable differences. For starters, the Camaro costs less, selling for $61,390 and the Hellcat costing $65,870. The Hellcat has way more power at 707hp compared to the 580hp of the ZL1. The ZL1 has a manual gearbox while the Hellcat (at least the one tested here) has an 8-speed automatic. The Hellcat weighs about 400 pounds more than the Camaro at 4,449 pounds.

I don’t want to give it away, but Motor Trend pitted these two cars against one another on the latest episode of Head 2 Head. The video is fun to watch so check it out and see which care came out on top.
