Best in the Desert: Vegas to Reno with Nick Woodman

(NSFW: Language) In this adrenaline-filled video, GoPro CEO Nick Woodman jumps into the Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno race. The crew is still working on the vehicle as it pulls into the event start in Las Vegas the night before.

In all, the team installed a new air intake, suspension, wheels, brakes, driveline and more boosting the truck from 150hp to about 400hp and there hadn’t been a shakeout run of the new build before the race start. Woodman experiences a few problems on the grueling 540 mile desert course, including losing power steering and shedding a wheel in the middle of nowhere which leads to a nasty encounter with a thorn bush. Never mind the sweltering heat while wearing all that protective gear.

Unfortunately, after driving over 300 miles and switching drivers, the truck had an irreparable breakdown, so the team didn’t finish the race.
