The Significance of Audi’s Ur-Quattro

These days, Audi’s Quattro brand is regarded as one of the best all-wheel drive systems on the market. The first Audi Quattros (aka the “Ur-Quattro”) -made in the early 1980s – had a significant impact on how not only sports cars are made, but on almost every vehicle in today’s Audi lineup.

In this clip from Petrolicious, we spend some time with Audi fanatic Manuel Leon Minassian, who reminisces about the heritage of the Group B rally-winning Quattros, and how he got his hands on a 1983 Ur-Quattro for himself. He then takes us on a ride in this classic, but sometimes quirky, Audi, spitting dirt through twisty and turny hillsides.
