The Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R is a classic car, popular in the tuner and underground racing world. The car would provide the inspiration for the modern day Nissan GT-R, widely regarded as one of the best cars built in the last decade. But what happens when an old Skyline takes on a new GT-R on a drag strip?

In this clip from UK outlet Auto Express, they put a 1994 Skyline R33 GT-R up against a 2009 Nissan GT-R on the runway at Edinburgh Airport in Scotland. But before you count out the 15 year-old car, you should know it’s had its 2.6-liter, twin-turbo straight-six tuned to a whopping 689bhp. On the other hand, the newer car has a stock 3.8-liter turbo V6 which produces just 455bhp.

So which of these two cars will be victorious on the track? Take a minute out of your busy day and watch the video to find out. And check out more of the Drag Race Shoot-out series here.
