Inside the Ford Mustang Factory

During last week’s NAIAS show in Detroit, Ford invited some of its international guests on a tour of the Ford Mustang factory in Flat Rock, Michigan. In this video from Supercars of London, we get to take a look inside the process of building this great American muscle car.

There’s a bit of a long intro to the video, so you can skip right to the 2-minute mark if you’d just like to cut to the chase and see the factory in action. It’s by no means a comprehensive factory tour, but along the way, you’ll see racks upon racks of steel body parts as they come together, as well as the final assembly process as finished Mustangs and the occasional Fusion rolls off the assembly line.

Given my past experiences with factory tours at Ford, they generally don’t permit video recording, so this is a great opportunity to go behind the scenes and see some things you don’t usually get to see.
