Alfa Romeo May Kill 4C by 2020: NOOOOOOOOOOOO

When I was 15, all I wanted to drive in the entire world was an Alfa Romeo Spider. I couldn’t find one of those so my mom ended up spending $500 on a decent looking, but in terrible need of restoration late ’70s Triumph Spitfire. It had a similar look to the Alfa, and as British cars are wont to do, it eventually self immolated. I’ve had a fondness for Alfa Romeo going all the way back to the car chase scene in Fletch.

I was happy when the Alfa Romeo 4C launched even if it was a terribly impractical little monster. A terrible rumor is now circulating stemming from industry insiders that says Alfa could discontinue the 4C as soon as 2020. The reason cited is poor sales.

Only 309 units have been sold so far this year and by this time last year only 320 units had been sold. Perhaps the Giulia will fare better, but I rather doubt it. I’d so love a yellow 4C. Maybe a fire sale will happen if it’s discontinued, and I can get a bargain.
