Kia Stonic Crossover Lands in Europe

Kia has unveiled an all new model in Europe that looks really cool. The compact crossover is called the Stonic and promises agile handling and a sporty ride, and will have a range of small and lightweight engines to choose from.

The engines will include turbo gas and diesel offerings including a 1.0 to 1.4-liter naturally-aspirated gas engines, and 1.6-liter diesel. Assuming the Stonic makes its way to the US at some point, expect to see a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and a 1.6-liter turbo 4, like the ones found in the Kia Niro.

The compact crossover is built on a strong and light platform using 51% advanced high strength steel. Stonic buyers can choose to add autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian recognition and forward collision alert, blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert, and lane departure warning.

The Stonic will go on sale in Europe in Q3 2017. There’s no word on pricing or availability outside of Europe.
