2023 Toyota GR86 Special Edition Looks Juicy in Orange

Toyota has revealed a GR86 Special Edition for the 2023 model year. Only 860 units will be built, and they all come in the same unique Solar Shift orange paint. Each car rolls on 18-inch forged matte black alloy wheels. It will also be louder than a standard GR86 thanks to a cat-back exhaust system with black chrome tips.

They also come with black C-pillar graphics and a rear duckbill spoiler. Toyota also carried over the special touches to the interior using Ultrasuede and leather for the seats with unique trim.

Otherwise, the car is essentially the same as the GR86 Premium. It has a 2.4-liter flat-four engine producing 228 horsepower and 184 pound-foot of torque. The engine pushes the car to 60 mph from a standstill in 6.1 seconds with the manual transmission or 6.6 seconds with the automatic. The car rolls on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.

Toyota hasn’t offered any details on pricing for the GR86 Special Edition, though it’s likely to fetch a bit more than the GR86 Premium’s $31K base price. It’s also unclear exactly when the car would be available to purchase.
