Ford Ranger MS-RT Brings Sporty Styling to Europe But Not the U.S.

While they share some underpinnings, the version of the Ford Ranger that’s sold in the U.S. is quite different from the version sold in Europe and other countries. Sadly, that means we’ll probably never see the performance-oriented Ford Ranger MS-RT that was revealed for release in Europe. This special-grade double-cab pickup builds on the utility and capability of the Ranger and tricks it out with street truck style.

Immediately, you’ll see that the upper and lower grilles have a dynamic look with a honeycomb design that fades out towards the edges with a gradient effect, flanked by LED headlights with C-clamp daylight running lights. Alongside its front splitter are functional vents with gloss black fins. It also has special aerodynamic spoilers and widened wheel arches, which increase its overall width by 82 mm (~3.23 in).

The truck rolls on awesome-looking 21-inch satin black alloy rims with low-profile Continental tires and has a 40mm (~1.57 in) wider track than a standard Ranger. A performance-tuned suspension starts with firmer dampers in front and a retuned rear. Beginning in September 2024, there’s an option to lower the suspension by 40 mm (~1.57 in). Other upgrades include deployable power side steps, black mirror caps, and dual rear spoilers – one on top of the cab and another that connects from the rear fenders to the top of the tailgate.

Inside, the truck has MS-RT-badged eco-leather sport seats with aggressive bolstering, anti-slip microsuede surfaces, and a geometric blue stitch pattern reminiscent of racetrack outlines. It also has a heated, D-shaped sport steering wheel with blue stitching and a 12-o’clock marker at the top. Sync 4A comes standard, running on a 12-inch vertically-oriented touchscreen.

Under the hood, the Ranger MS-RT has a 3.0-liter EcoBlue turbodiesel V6 engine that produces 240 ps (~237 hp) and 600 nm (~442 lb-ft.) torque. That works with a 10-speed automatic transmission and sends power to all four wheels using Ford’s electronic 4WD system. It’s got enough power to tow up to 3500 kg (~7716 lb.) and has a 1-ton (~2204 lb.) payload capacity.

Ford will offer the truck in Conquer Grey, Frozen White, Metallic Moondust Silver, Metallic Carbonized Grey, Metallic Agate Black, and MS-RT Blue. Ford has yet to reveal pricing for the Ranger MS-RT, but they’re taking orders now, with deliveries starting in mid-2024.
