Tanner Foust

I love it when someone takes a car that isn’t fast to begin with and makes it stupid fast. That is exactly what has happened to this unassuming VW Passat. Nothing about a normal Passat screams performance, but Tanner Foust has a new Passat Formula Drift car that will spend its life destroying tires with a massive amount of power.

We’ve known about Tanner Foust’s impressive new Volkswagen rally car for a while, but every time we see it, we can’t get enough. Despite looking like a relatively tame VW Beetle from the outside (other than the air intakes and massive wing), this beast has been fitted with beefed-up turbocharged 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine which pushes out a whopping 540+ horsepower.

For this promo video touting its new 2015 Golf GTI, Volkswagen not only managed to get stunt driver Tanner Foust behind the wheel, but they attached literally dozens of GoPros all over the vehicle to let us choose our own perspective on Tanner’s tricky driving maneuvers.
