Volvo S90 and V90 Polestars May Pack 600 Horses

I find myself talking more about Volvo in the last year than ever before. In the past, the automaker really had nothing exciting to offer us gearheads. However, that has changed with the awesome Polestar line Volvo offers today. Now, Volvo R&D head Peter Mertens has said that there will be Polestar version of the V90 wagon and S90 sedan.

The big news though is that the V90 and S90 Polestars could make some crazy power. The turbo 2.0 four that is used in the cars can handle 450 hp on its own with a blower installed along with a pair of electric turbos. The V90 and S90 Polestars are said to be getting hybrid power adding in more instant torque bringing the total output up to around 600 hp.

Volvo USA says that there are no current plans to bring those vehicles to the US, but speaking with Motor Trend, Mertens said that he would like to see them on sale here. I’d love a blue Polestar wagon making 600 hp, so Volvo had better start selling these stateside.
