Brabus Mercedes X-Class Adds Style and a Few Ponies

Brabus is normally associated with making insane power and adding sometimes questionable style to already fast Mercedes cars. The German tuner is now working on the relatively meek, but cool looking, Mercedes X-Class pickup truck.

Most of the upgrades are in the style department. The twin 7-spoke 20-inch wheels look cool, and there’s a new grille with a giant “B”. I could live without that for certain. The two low profile LED light bars on the leading edge of the roof are cool, and are wired to come on when the headlights are on high beam.

Inside, buyers can choose just about any color leather they want, and the truck gets aluminum pedals and stainless steel scuff plates. In addition to the cosmetic upgrades, the 2.3L turbodiesel engine gets a scant 20 bhp power increase from a new tune. It does get a nice 60Nm (~44 lb-ft.) gain in torque though. Brabus also plans on working its magic on the coming X 350d.
