Despite Price, 1000hp Hellephant Sells Out Quick

Late last month we talked about the insane 1000hp 426 Hemi Hellephant MOPAR crate engine that had a giant blower on it. It’s basically the supercharged SRT Hellcat engine all hopped up on industrial strength catnip.

Beyond the crazy engine specs is its crazy cost. If you wanted a Hellephant for your project, you had to shell out $29,995. I figured that MOPAR would only sell a few of those engines any time soon. Well, it turns out I was wrong.

Allpar reported via social media posts from third-party companies that all the Hellephant engines are sold out , and FCA later confirmed that. Exact production numbers are a mystery, but rumors hint the production run was 100 engines, and they all sold in just two days.
