Lotus Exige Sport 410 20th Anniversary Is a Little British Monster
Of all the cool sports cars that we can’t get in the US, perhaps the one we lament the most is the Lotus Exige. The want is extreme for the new 20th anniversary special edition of the Exige, which celebrates the launch of the model in 2000. The unique car is called the Lotus Exige Sport 410 20th Anniversary and features updated interior and exterior specifications along with special badging and retro colors.
The retro colors are inspired by the original Exige Series 1 and include exclusive shades of Chrome Orange, Laser Blue, and Calypso Red. Buyers can also choose Saffron Yellow, which Lotus says is meant to remind of the original Norfolk Mustard Yellow. Motorsport Black and Arctic Silver are also available.
All of the cars feature a body-color roof, side air intake pods, a rear wing, and a black “shark fin” stone chip protector in front of the rear wheels. Standard features include Nitron three-way adjustable dampers with variable bump and re-bound settings. The front splitter, front access panel, and rear tailgate are all carbon fiber.
There is no mention of engine upgrades, so I’m assuming that the special edition uses the same rear mid-engine 410 hp supercharged 3.5-liter V6 fitted into the regular 410 Sport. That engine is good for 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, and the car can go 174 mph on the top end.
Other unique features include upgraded, retro-inspired Alcantara interior, DAB digital radio with Bluetooth, cruise control, ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels, and an Alcantara steering wheel. The cars also get carbon fiber sill trim, a lightweight titanium exhaust, and a lightweight lithium-ion battery.
Those of you in the UK can purchase this special edition Exige Sport for £79,900.
