Ford Mustang GT Performance Pack 2 Discontinued

Yesterday we mentioned that the official starting price for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 had been announced, and the vehicle started at $52,915. While that’s a lot of money, learning more details on the anticipated Limited-edition Mustang is appreciated. What Mustang fans might not appreciate is that the Mustang GT Performance Pack 2 appears to have been discontinued.

You might think that Ford hopes the Mach 1 will take over the niche of the Performance Pack 2 field, and you may be right. However, there is a significant price difference between the cheapest Performance Pack 2 Mustang and the cheapest Mach 1. For instance, if someone wanted a high-performance Mustang budget, the cheapest PP2 available stickered at $45,575.

That makes the Mach 1 over $7,000 more expensive. While the Performance Pack 2 was only available with the six-speed manual, Mach 1 buyers can get the car in automatic if they want. However, the as-yet unpriced Handling Package does require the six-speed manual.
