2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Configurator Lets You Build and Price Your Dream SUV

I love what Toyota has done with the new 2024 Land Cruiser. The automaker is leaning into the rugged and adventurous heritage of the brand and, at the same time, making it more affordable. Now, we know how much the SUV will cost, and you can build and spec yours with the Land Cruiser configurator.

The 2024 Land Cruiser will come in three main variants: the Land Cruiser 1958, the Land Cruiser, and the First Edition, with prices starting at $55,950, $61,950, and $74,950, respectively. The 1958 and First Edition get the classic round headlights, while the Land Cruiser has a more modern look with rectangular headlights.

Every 2024 Land Cruiser has the same 2.4L 4-cylinder i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine that makes 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque along with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Full-time four-wheel drive, a 2-speed transfer case, and skid plates come standard. As you move from the base 1958 model to the Land Cruiser, you’ll get a multi-terrain monitor, Rigid LED fog lights, a 12.3″ digital instrument panel, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and stabilizer bar disconnect. The First Edition gets leather seats, a power moonroof, wireless charging, a console cool box, a 14-speaker JBL audio system, and a head-up display as standard equipment. 18″ wheels come standard on all models, with the 1958 getting 245/70R18 tires and the higher-end trims getting wider 265/70R18 rubber. While 20″ rims are available as an option, I don’t suggest buying them if you have any intentions of taking your Land Cruiser off-road.

Using the configurator, you can add these features to the mid-grade Land Cruiser via the $4600 Premium Package, so if you prefer the look of that model, you’re in luck. I built my dream SUV in Meteor Shower grey paint with black leather seats, rock rails, and roof cross bars for $69,595.

I’ve already driven the 2024 Lexus GX 550 and was impressed with its substance and capabilities. The Land Cruiser has a different engine and doesn’t offer the fancy adaptive suspension available on the GX, but it’s also considerably less expensive. I’m excited to get behind the wheel of the Land Cruiser soon to see how it compares off-road. At the moment, this SUV and the GX are at the top of my wish list.
