2025 Infiniti QX80 Redesigns The Brand’s Biggest SUV: Here Are Specs and Prices

It’s been over a decade since the Infiniti QX80 was fully redesigned. The third generation of the three-row SUV has debuted, and it looks like a significant leap forward. The new look of the 2025 QX80 is sophisticated and substantial and hints at an elegant future for Nissan’s luxury brand.

Gone is the overworked look of the last-gen QX80, replaced with smooth and dynamic forms. The front of the SUV has the best-looking Infiniti grille design in years, featuring densely packed, angled slats inspired by stalks in a bamboo forest. Under the hood, there’s a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. That power heads to the wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations are available.

As you approach the SUV, its logo badge illuminates, followed by its multi-element LED headlights and puddle lights to help guide you to the doors in the dark. Speaking of doors, they now have powered handles that collapse flat for a more refined, aerodynamic look. In the back, illumination runs across the entire width of the vehicle. It’s a look that’s not unique to Infiniti but very well executed, with hundreds of LEDs grouped in segments behind a smoked red lens.

The QX80 gets some much-needed technology updates with a pair of 14.3-inch displays, including a new touchscreen multimedia interface with Google built-in technology. That provides real-time map updates, downloadable apps from the Google Play store, and Google Assistant voice recognition. There’s also a smaller, 9-inch touchscreen in the center console for controlling climate functions and drive mode selection. Some new camera views are available to help maneuver the 211-inch-long SUV, including a 170-degree front wide view that spans both displays and an “invisible hood” view that lets you visualize hidden obstacles that the hood would otherwise obscure. There’s also an upgraded surround monitor system and an enhanced digital rearview mirror that’s supposed to work better in the dark and deliver crisper images than before. Infiniti will also offer an in-car camera feature so you can check on passengers in the second row.

I remember the first time I sat in a QX56 (the predecessor to the QX80), my wife called it “a living room on wheels.” Fast-forward 20 years, and we’ve got Infiniti’s most luxurious and comfortable three-row cabin ever. The top-of-the-line Autograph grade QX80 features two-tone semi-aniline leather seats with diamond-dot-quilted details. For added comfort, heating and cooling are available in the first two rows, and heating is an option for the third row. Massaging seats are also available in both the first and second rows. There’s also a new feature called Biometric Cooling, which uses an infrared sensor to detect if a passenger in the second row is hot and automatically adjusts the air conditioning to help them cool off without having to change any settings.

Infiniti partnered with Klipsch to deliver an audiophile-grade listening experience with the optional 24-speaker Reference Premiere sound system. This system has high-end features like titanium tweeters, background noise reduction, and 3D surround sound. It also packs speakers into the front seat headrests for playing sounds like phone calls or navigation instructions without disrupting the rest of the passengers.

While design and technology top the list of upgrades, Infiniti also wanted to improve utility. With that in mind, there’s better overall cargo space, with 18% more space behind the second row and 30% more behind the third row. There’s also more room for passengers in all three rows than before. All three rows have access to USB-C charging ports, too. A second-row split-bench seat is available as an option, but I much prefer the comfort of captain’s chairs if you don’t absolutely need to carry eight passengers.

The QX80 will come in four grades: PURE, LUXE, SENSORY, and AUTOGRAPH, with all models getting the same engine and transmission, but RWD or 4WD versions of the PURE and LUXE. As you move through the lineup, upgrades appear, including dynamic and air suspension, 22-inch wheels, ProPILOT Assist 2.1, open-pore wood, and more. Prices for the various grades are as follows (not including the $1,995 destination and handling fee)

  • PURE RWD: $82,450
  • PURE 4WD: $85,550
  • LUXE RWD: $89,550
  • LUXE 4WD: $92,650
  • SENSORY 4WD: $100,645
  • AUTOGRAPH 4WD: $110,595

Infiniti expects the 2025 QX80 to start hitting dealers in late Summer 2024.
