Not too long ago, I had my first opportunity to drive a Polaris Slingshot. While I thought it was quite entertaining, it’s still definitely a niche vehicle. Now, for 2020, Polaris has gone deep into the internals of the Slingshot to improve its drivetrain, handling, comfort, and more.

The first time I saw a Polaris Slingshot sitting in traffic I thought it looked really cool. In fact, I rather wished it had four wheels because it looks like it could be a fun track car if it wasn’t a trike.

While the Polaris Slingshot doesn’t officially qualify as a car, this three-wheeled, two-seater motorcycle with a steering wheel certainly looks like a car from the front. Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire recently had the privilege of taking one of these minimal vehicles out for a spin, and has shared his experiences.

Taking aim at track-day roadsters like the Ariel Atom, Polaris has just taken wraps off of its latest vehicle, the Slingshot. But instead of being a street-legal automobile, it’s actually classified as a motorcycle. This three-wheeled roadster is designed to let driver and passenger sit side by side, just inches from the ground.
