CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept Is a Badass Electric Hot Hatch

Spanish automaker SEAT’s CUPRA performance division is showing off one of the sickest looking hot hatches we’ve seen in a while. The UrbanRebel Concept was designed to tease its electric future while still retaining its sports car character.

The UrbanRebel’s electric drivetrain produces 335 horsepower in continuous operation, with a 429 horsepower peak potential. Those numbers launch the car from 0-to-62 mph in just 3.2 seconds, which is outstanding as hot hatches go.

Looking a bit like a tricked-out Hyundai Veloster, the 2-door hatchback’s body features aggressive aerodynamic sculpting along its sides and rear, an enormous rear wing and diffuser, wide performance tires, and a low ride height to help it stick to the ground like glue.

The vehicle shares parent company Volkswagen’s MEB short platform, which is also used for the Audi Q4 e-tron, and VW ID.3, ID.4, and ID.6 electric vehicles. CUPRA hopes to put a production version of the Urban Rebel together for the 2025 model year.
