Bmw Z4

If you, like me, have been looking forward to the new Toyota Supra slash BMW Z4 hitting the market, you won’t like this leak. We knew the sports coupe wouldn’t exactly be a bargain, but we didn’t expect the Z4 to come in at Porsche levels of expensive.

After teasing us with the Z4 Concept Roadster last year, BMW has finally pulled back the covers on the production version of its much-anticipated new 2-seat convertible. First up from the Z4 line is the 2019 M40i First Edition, a sporty version that packs a 3.0-liter inline-6 engine.

We already know that BMW and Toyota have been collaborating on a new rear-wheel drive sports car – which will be sold as the next generation Z4 for the German automaker, and likely as the next Supra for Toyota.

A few weeks back I talked a bit about the sports car that BMW and Toyota are working on together expected to carry the Supra name at Toyota. As it turns out the BMW version is expected to be called the Z4, and to clear the way for that car to enter production BMW has killed off production of the slow selling, current-gen Z4.
