During a recent outing to the Bundy Hill Off-Road Park park in Jerome, Michigan, I spotted a vehicle I’ve never seen in person before. Among the Wranglers and Raptors, between the ATVs and the dirt bikes was this incredibly strange and wonderful sight – a Sherp.

The Russian-built Sherp ATV looks like some sort of truck that would be on a kids cartoon. It has gigantic wheels with self-inflating tires which allow the ATV to crawl over objects up to 70cm (~27″) tall.

2016 Vaylon Pegase: The Flying ATV
Despite its promotional footage looking like something out of a video game, the makers of the Vaylon Pegase are really working on building this unusual vehicle, which combines an off-road buggy with an ultra-light aircraft. The Pegase is designed for driving across a variety of ground terrains, including wet or dry obstacles, and can then can be propelled into flight without need for a long runway.
