Jaguar F-pace

I’ve spent a bit of time behind the wheel of a few Jaguar F-PACEs since it first broke cover back in 2016. The luxury crossover is one of the most dynamic and fun to drive, and it’s always looked better than most SUVs too.

The Jaguar F-PACE is one of the best performance SUVs you can buy today. It’s already quite capable when equipped with its 340 or 380 hp supercharged V6 engine. But if you want your SUV to zoom from 0-to-60 in the low 4s, there’s a model for you now.

Jaguar is pumped about the F-PACE, and says that the performance SUV has already become its fastest selling model. For the 2018 model year, the company is adding a new entry level model with a 247 hp 2.0L turbo-four engine that makes an impressive 269 lb-ft.

When Jaguar first announced that they’d be entering the already crowded luxury SUV market, there were lots of people out there wondering if it would be the right move for a brand whose heritage is steeped in sports cars like the classic E-Type and the modern classic F-TYPE.

We’ve seen a ton of teaser footage of the Jaguar F-Pace, so we already have a pretty good idea what the new sport SUV looks like. Still, it’s nice to finally see it without camo. In this brief teaser video released for China’s Chengdu Motor Show, Jaguar shows off all of the internal components that go into the F-Pace, then in the last couple of seconds, they show a brief side view of the vehicle. 

Jaguar’s first ever SUV is coming soon, and the British automaker assures us that it will inherit the same sports car DNA found in the F-Type which inspired it. While the official reveal of the F-Pace isn’t until next month’s Frankfort Motor Show, Jaguar Land Rover today revealed a few choice tidbits about the vehicle, along with a video of it in action.

Now that we’ve accepted the strange Jaguar SUV name, we can watch the new F-Pace undergo Col. Steve Major’s The Six Million Dollar Man-like testing. A new video has been released showing a poorly disguised F-Pace being taken through its paces in the baking Dubai heat, as well as the ball-freezing temps of Northern Sweden.
