Sure, we’re all about real cars here on 95Octane, but we occasionally enjoy playing with toy cars too. So sit back and enjoy for the next five minutes or so, and watch and hear what it would be like to sit behind the driver’s seat of a scale electric slot car.

Racing around in stock cars on a dirt track is a blast; so is flying a high speed drone. So why not combine the two into a single activity? That’s basically what one aerial photographer recently did, when he set off to chase dirt track racers around the track using a fast-flying racing drone.

In certain stretches of the Autobahn, those German cats get to take their cars on public roads and go pretty much balls out without fear of the police. The thing that I always find interesting about these high-speed Autobahn runs is that everyone on the road knows to GTFO when a faster car is overtaking.

In the States, if you hit triple-digit speeds on public roads and get caught, you go to jail, and your car gets impounded. In some parts of Germany’s Autobahn, there are no speed limits, and you can go as fast as you want.

I mentioned last month that Faraday Future would be on hand at the Pikes Peak hill climb with its prototype FF91. The car would be racing up the mountain in the exhibition class. Well the hill climb has come and gone, and a video of the Faraday making its run up the hill has now surfaced.

I’ve been to a whole bunch of tracks around the U.S., but I’ve yet to drive on – or even visit the Virginia International Raceway (aka “VIR”) But if I ever have the good fortune to do it, I can assure you that my lap will never approach the sheer brilliance of this one driven by race pro Bill Auberlen.

By now, you know that Mark Higgins and Subaru took their new WRX STI to the Isle of Mann and dominated his own track record. A new video has surfaced from Subaru that has Higgins talking us through the entire blazing-fast lap.

Subaru has published a 360° video of driver David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew as they won the 2015 Lake Superior Performance Rally. The race is part of the Rally America championship. Subaru wants people to watch the VR-ready video using its Subaru Motorsports app.

The only problem with first-person lap videos is you can’t see the car. And in this case, it’s the Koenigsegg One:1, taking on the Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, where my brother-in-law put his BMW into a wall on a track day but happily emerged unscathed.

Odds are you… nor I… will ever get a chance to actually drive Le Mans, which is going on as I write this. So we’ll have to make do with this video of a Nissan GT-R tearing up the Circuit de la Sarthe, in advance of the 2015 Le Mans.

One of my all-time favorite sports cars is the McLaren F1. I loved the seating with the driver in the center and the incredible performance of the car. Sure modern exotics are faster, but the F1 still has a special place in my heart.

Seems like this week has been all about driving great cars, so I can’t complain about life. I started out the festivities with the Midwest Automotive Media Association’s Spring Rally up at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

This video is short, but it’s sweet. What we’ve got here is some awesome POV footage captured from the side door of Ken Gushi’s GReddy Racing Scion FR-S as he does a practice run alongside Tyler McQuarrie at Formula Drift Long Beach 2014.
