Driving Cadillac’s Pickup: The Mirage

Driving Cadillac’s Pickup: The Mirage
/Big Muscle gives us a fun history lesson about one of Cadillac’s most unusual experiments. Between 1975 and 1976 the company commissioned 204 Coupe DeVilles to be turned into pickup trucks, not unlike Chevy’s El Camino.

2016 Ford F-150 to Offer CNG/Propane V8 Option
Ford has previously offered a version of the popular F-150 that could be powered by compressed natural gas or propane. The catch was that the truck was only offered with a V6 at the time. Ford has now announced that with the 2016 F-150, it will offer a package from the factory that prepares the 5.0L V8 engine to run on either CNG or propane.

Kahn Design Flying Huntsman 105 Pickup

Kahn Design Flying Huntsman 105 Pickup
The latest member of Kahn Design’s Flying Huntsman Land Rover Defender line is certainly an odd one. As is the series’ trademark, the 105 Pick Up has a 15″ longer wheelbase and 16″ longer bonnet than a stock Defender, but the snout is even more pronounced here because it’s visibly larger than the truck bed.

Brabus Startech: The Range Rover Avalanche

Brabus Startech: The Range Rover Avalanche
I’m not normally a fan of car/truck or truck/SUV mashups. I was never an El Camino fan and I don’t really like the Chevy Avalanche. Brabus has taken a Range Rover and turned it into something awesome, and I really like it.

Freightliner SuperTruck Gets 12.2 mpg with a Full Load
We all see big rigs cruising the streets just about every time we get onto a highway. You may have never thought about how much fuel these big trucks consume when they are fully loaded, but the Department of Energy and owners of the trucks sure have.

RAM Won’t Make Mid-Size Pickup

RAM Won’t Make Mid-Size Pickup
For many years, there were a bunch of smaller pickup trucks in the US market. If you wanted a cheap truck, that is exactly what you bought. As the years went by those smaller trucks suddenly became as expensive as a full-size truck leading many people to just buy the big truck, and sales declined for mid-size trucks.

Peugeot Design Lab Made a Dedicated Food Truck

Peugeot Design Lab Made a Dedicated Food Truck
Food trucks are wonderful little restaurants crammed haphazardly into old vans. Sometimes, if they’re either part of very successful food truck empires or started by well established chefs, they’re even haphazardly crammed into new vans. You know what would be even cooler?

The Hino House Truck
As part of his New Zealand series, The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah found what he says is “probably the world’s fastest two-bedroom home.” It’s a lovely house built on the bed of a 1985 Hino truck.

Big Rig Catches Massive Air

Big Rig Catches Massive Air
Big Rigs drive the highways around our nation and the world each day carrying all sorts of cargo. These massive trucks can survive head on collisions that crumple other vehicles into balls of useless metal. These trucks are so big and heavy I bet you have never thought of anyone jumping one of them into the air on purpose.

Review: 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch

Review: 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch
I’ll start out by saying this: The 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch is the best pickup truck I’ve ever driven. It’s loaded with luxuries and comforts not typically associated with pickups, and doesn’t sacrifice utility in the least.

Many of the concept cars that we see at auto shows around the world will never come to market. The few that do come to market are usually watered down versions of the concept car awesome we loved.

Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 6×6 Turns up on eBay

Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 6×6 Turns up on eBay
Mercedes-Benz and AMG only made a handful of its over-the-top G63 6X6 off-roaders before ending production, and presumably most of them went to sheiks, oil magnates and other insanely wealthy show-offs. And while Mercedes is now working on a 4×4 version of the 6×6 that’s based on a 4×4, you can actually own one of the proper 6x6s if you’ve got the cash.

Next Generation Land Rover Defender: USA Bound?
In a dream world, what off-roader would you want to see come to the USA the most? If you’re normal, you’re thinking “LAND ROVER DEFENDER!” If you’re extra awesome, you’re thinking “Bowler EXR-S,” but let’s take things one step at a time.
