Nissan GT-R

Nissan has unveiled the pricing for the new 2017 GT-R Premium, and the car has increased significantly in price compared to the 2016 version of the car. The starting price including the $1595 destination charge is now $111,585.

More power isn’t really something the 600 hp GT-R NISMO needed, which is a good thing since the 2017 version didn’t a boost in that department. What the 2017 GT-R NISMO did get was improved handling and more aerodynamics, which are always welcome on the track.

One of only 44 ever built, and the sole model in the UK, this Nissan GT-R Nismo 400R is automotive, and video game, royalty. Carfection’s Drew Stearne wins the lotto with the chance to drive this legend.

Nissan has set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest drift ever. The car that pulled off this epic drift was a heavily modified Nissan that started life as a “normal” 2016 GT-R. The car was massaged by GReddy and NISMO to make an insane 1380 hp.

I was never the fan of the old El Camino. I mean if you want a truck, buy a truck. Don’t get some weird monstrosity with a car front end and a truck bed out back.

We’re still cleaning up the puddle of drool after checking out the 2017 Nissan GT-R. But for those of you who might think the GT-R is a 21st century creation, you’d be wrong. The Nissan GT-R has a storied past that dates all the way back to the Skyline GT-Rs of the 1960s.

Nissan will have a presence at SEMA when the show kicks off early next month. At the show, the automaker will be showing off one of the hottest sports cars ever made in a special hopped up form.

Rumors are already swirling that the next-generation Nissan GT-R will be a very different animal from the car we have today. Word is that the new version might look like the concept in the image here, and may have hybrid power under the hood.

So here’s a question: Can a remote controlled car outgun a real Lamborghini Gallardo? While the Lambo packs a 550 horsepower 10-cylinder engine that can launch the car from 0-to-60 in just 3.4 seconds, the toy car weighs next to nothing and has a brushless electric motor that offers instantaneous torque.

A few years back, Nissan took their Juke crossover and completely revamped it by giving it the drivetrain found in the GT-R. The new Juke-R 2.0 is even more of a badass, sporting an upgraded engine – based 3.8L twin-turbo V6 from the GT-R NISMO –  tuned to push out about 608hp – a 26% increase over the original Juke-R’s 480hp engine.

Odds are you… nor I… will ever get a chance to actually drive Le Mans, which is going on as I write this. So we’ll have to make do with this video of a Nissan GT-R tearing up the Circuit de la Sarthe, in advance of the 2015 Le Mans.

While the Nissan GT-R is one of the fastest production cars ever made, this video proves that with the right engine and tuning prowess, even mighty Godzilla can fall at the feet of the right vehicle.

What’s not to love about the Nissan GT-R?  It’s been on sale since way back in 2007, and the clinical powerhouse of a car still slices far more expensive supercars to shreds like a Ginsu on a tomato.
