The Mazda Miata’s claim to fame is based entirely on being a perfectly balanced English-style roadster with Japanese reliability. What it isn’t know for is being powerful. The new 2016 Miata’s top spec engine only makes 155 hp.

The aftermarket Mazda performance specialists at BBR in the UK have already begun looking at what can be done with the new Mazda MX-5 Miata, even though the car isn’t yet on sale. So far, all we’ve seen are a the teaser image above and the announcement of some interesting specs, including a nice boost to the MX-5’s stock 155 hp powerplant.

The current generation Mazda 3 is a compact sedan that combines enjoyable driving dynamics, fuel efficiency and safety in a moderately priced package. Available in both 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback variants, with either a 2.0-liter or 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, the model I spent time with sits smack dab in the middle of the line.

The Ferrari 250 GTO of the 1960s is an astounding vehicle, and collectors are willing to pay millions for them these days. But many of us can’t afford to throw down $38,000,000 for a car, so perhaps this replica 250 GTO – built atop a 1992 Mazda MX5 – is better suited to us paupers.

Mazda is the latest automaker to design an awesome virtual race car for Gran Turismo 6. The LM55 Vision Gran Turismo is their gift to gaming fans, and it looks pretty amazing. The futuristic car is designed as a view into what a future Le Mans racer might look like, blending elements from Mazda’s trademark “Kodo” design philosophy with the performance and aerodynamics required to make a race-winning sports car.

Mazda is looking to Xbox and Forza Horizon 2 players to help it launch the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Players are asked to design a custom livery for the 1994 Mazda MX-5 in the game, then save their creation with the name “MX5contest” and upload it to the Forza Horizon 2 storefront.

Mazda has jumped head-first into the compact SUV market with its latest vehicle, the CX-3. Based on the same platform as the popular Mazda 2, the CX-3 offers youthful styling and looks like a great little daily driver.

Mazda showed up at SEMA 2014 with a big announcement: the Japanese automaker will be launching a new model-specific race series beginning in 2016 call the Global MX-5 Cup. In the series, drivers will compete with identically prepared cars based on the all-new 4th-generation Mazda MX-5, each fitted with a 2.0-liter SkyActive-G engine.

I’m not sure how many Mercedes-Benz AMG customers are going with the steel wheel option, or new BMW M4 buyers will be looking for a black plastic front fascia, but X-Tomi Design out of Hungary took a look at what some of these sports cars and supercars might look like if they were built out without their fancy wheels, sports tires, spoilers, or other bells and whistles.

The Mazda RX-2 was a compact car sold from 1971 to 1978. What made the RX-2 special was that it was the first passenger car to offer a rotary engine. It was also the car that helped Mazda make a name for itself in the U.S.

We recently got our first look at the redesigned 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, but all we got to see was some still images and the car that was up on stage for the announcement. Here’s the first video footage of the little roadster, in which we get to see the car from a few more angles.

After much anticipation, Mazda has taken wraps off of its brand new MX-5 Miata roadster. This is the fourth generation of the Miata, with its last major redesign taking place for the 2009 model year. Intended to be rolled out for the 2016 model year, the new MX-5 features significant design changes from past models, while still embracing the iconic vehicle’s storied past.

The Mazda RX-500 is a one-of-a-kind concept car designed back in 1970. It’s a rare ride that isn’t often seen, but the guys at the recent 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed managed score a brief showing of the elusive car.

While the Mazda2 is a pretty solid little subcompact, it’s never been the most visually appealing car in our opinion. It always had a bit of goofy grin on its face. That changes with the just-announced 2016 Mazda2, which goes by the moniker DEMIO in Japan.

We already know that Mazda is working on a revamp of the MX-5 Miata for 2016, and if industry trends are any indication, it’s likely going to err on the side of modern vs. retro styling.
